All Star Code Inc.

All Star Code creates economic opportunity by developing a new generation of boys and young men of color with an entrepreneurial mindset who have the tools they need to succeed in a technological world. All Star Code envisions a country where all young men of color have access to the tools of success, where the ability to thrive is available to all who are willing to dare greatly.

Blacks in Technology Foundation

Blacks In Technology is a global platform for Black people in technology. Serving members through community, media and mentorship, Blacks in Technology provides resources, guidance and challenge members to establish new standards of innovation.

Socialworks

SocialWorks aims to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement while fostering leadership, accessibility, and positivity within Chicago. Our initiatives, OpenMike, Warmest Winter, Kids of the Kingdom, the New Chance: Arts & Literature Fund, and My State of Mind, were created to advocate for youth and the fulfillment of their success in all its forms. We’re excited to continue to bring impact and we hope to continue to do so through innovation and collaboration.

Black Girls Code Inc

With a vision to increase the number of women of color in the digital space, Black Girls Code empowers girls of color ages 7 to 17 to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities, and builders of their own futures through exposure to computer science and technology. Black Girls Code provides African-American youth with the skills to occupy some of the 1.4 million computing job openings expected to be available in the U.S. by 2020, and to train 1 million girls by 2040.

NPower (non-profit)

NPower creates pathways to economic prosperity by launching digital careers for military veterans and young adults from underserved communities. In today’s economy, over 50% of all jobs require some degree of technology and digital skill, and this is expected to grow to 77% by 2020 in the U.S. Yet the job market is not keeping pace. Of the nearly 6 million jobs expected to require tech skills in the future, labor statistics project a candidate pool of only 3.2 million. NPower envisions a future where our domestic technology workforce is diverse, and clear pathways exist for all people regardless of ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic background to succeed in our digital economy.

Per Scholas, Inc.

Per Scholas was founded more than 20 years ago with a mission to open doors to transformative technology careers for individuals from often overlooked communities. Building a more diverse technical workforce, Per Scholas creates on-ramps for women and people of color, groups staggeringly underrepresented in IT employment today. 90% of Per Scholas students are people of color.
