United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut
The United Way's mission is to engage and bring together people and resources committed to the well-being of children and families in our community.
Village For Families & Children Inc
The Village was one of the first agencies in the country to provide homes for neglected children. Today, they continue to achieve their mission “to build a community of strong, healthy families who protect and nurture children” by providing a full range of behavioral health, early childhood and youth development, substance abuse treatment, and support services for children, families and adults in the Greater Hartford region.
Foodshare, Inc.
Foodshare is leading an informed, coordinated response to hunger in our community. Founded in 1982, Foodshare is the regional food bank serving Connecticut's Hartford and Tolland counties. Foodshare is a member of the national organization Feeding America, along with more than 200 other food banks nationally. In partnership with the food industry, donors, community leaders and volunteers, Foodshare works to maximize access to nutritious food and other resources that support food security. And, because hunger is bigger than food, Foodshare collaborates with anti-hunger organizations, policy makers, and the broader community to build effective solutions to end hunger.
