The Bail Project

The Bail Project is a national nonprofit organization designed to combat mass incarceration by disrupting the money bail system — one person at a time.We believe that paying bail for someone in need is an act of resistance against a system that criminalizes race and poverty and an act of solidarity with local communities and movements for decarceration. Over the next five years, The Bail Project will open dozens of sites in high-need jurisdictions with the goal of paying bail for tens of thousands of low-income people.We won’t stop until meaningful change is achieved and the presumption of innocence is no longer for sale.

Islamic Networks Inc

The Islamic Network Group’s (ING) mission is to promote peace among all, by fostering a deeper, more nuanced understanding of Muslims and other faith-based, racial/ethnic and cultural communities through teaching, learning and engaging across differences. Our goal is to be on the forefront of supporting social justice work through the continued building of our multi-race and multi-faith engagement platforms. ING’s programs include interreligious and intercultural panels, DEI trainings and educational seminars which include representatives of the Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist communities, and individuals of African-American, Asian, Latinx and Indigenous backgrounds.

Native American Rights Fund

NARF's objectives are to protect the rights of and seek justice for tribes and Native peoples. In the words of Executive Director John Echohawk, "We ask for nothing more, and will accept nothing less than the U.S. Government keeping the promises it has made to Native Americans." NARF currently represents more than 60 tribes in 20 states on a wide range of critical matters, including land into trust, federal recognition, subsistence hunting & fishing, federal trust responsibilities, protection of sacred places, voting rights, sovereign immunity, Indian Child Welfare, water rights and environmental issues.

NAACP Legal Defense & Educ Fund Inc

The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 82 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.

Detroit Justice Center

The Detroit Justice Center works alongside communities to create economic opportunities, transform the justice system, and promote equitable and just cities. DJC is founded on the belief that we cannot build cities that work for everyone without remedying the impacts of mass incarceration. This mission requires innovative ways of community lawyering—rooted in defensive and offensive fights for racial justice and economic equity—that build up our poorest residents through direct services and novel approaches to land use, housing, and employment.
