https://www.local-heroes.nl/ A small non-profit but 100% run by unpaid volunteers including myself for many years, where every single penny goes to schooling or athletic programmes in remote villages in several African countries. Mostly in north east Kenya but also a few other locations like Houtbaai in South Africa. In a volatile world, it is important not to forget about these small but locally impactful projects. We work together with real local heroes such as Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon, herself a former beneficiary, and Haile Gebrselassie.
