Dear colleagues, With great enthusiasm, I am taking on the Africa Classic: a unique 6‑day mountain biking challenge around Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It is a sporting adventure I am really looking forward to, and one I am proud to dedicate to a cause that truly makes an impact. With this challenge, we are raising funds for AMREF Health Africa. AMREF has been working for more than 65 years towards a healthy Africa by training healthcare workers, providing basic healthcare, offering education, and ensuring sustainable access to clean drinking water. The work they do is invaluable, and thanks to donations, they can continue making a real difference. During the Africa Classic, we will cycle past several AMREF projects and receive on‑site explanations about the impact they have within local communities. Celebrating the Life of Mr. Averell Eisner Father of Ken Eisner, Managing Director, Global Higher Education to Workforce and K-16 Skills Averell Eisner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong problem-solver, passed away on February 20, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1942, in Perth Amboy, NJ, and grew up in Highland Park, NJ. From an early age, he displayed a deep love of math and science - the foundation of a life spent at the frontier of technology. He attended Rutgers Preparatory School and later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, carrying with him a disciplined, analytical mindset that would define both his career and his approach to life. Brain Chemistry Labs was an organization near and dear to Mr. Eisner. Please read below to learn more about the organization. Ethnomedicine (dba Brain Chem Labs) We have only one wish at the Institute for Ethnomedicine (dba Brain Chem Labs): to discover new treatments for serious illnesses. This focus has led to the discovery of two promising new drugs for ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other tangle diseases. We have a third drug in development. Our novel path to discovery has been exciting. Each step of this path, beginning in Guam, has brought us closer to a cure. In December 2024 my mother (Gerry) is diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). ALS is a fatal muscle and nerve disease, which results in muscle control loss. The average life expectancy is 3 years. My mother is a very active person, who is slowly getting caught in her own body. In the past, she was running marathons and cycled a lot on the race bike or mountain bike. Unfortunately, this is not possible anymore, but to stay active she is now cycling on a duo bike or takes a walk when possible. That’s why we will participate in the ALS Sunrise walk. We will walk, to raise money for research of the fatal muscle disease ALS. My team will walk 15 km and together with thousands of people we will walk towards the sunrise. MLM Bullies is a shelter for English/French bulldogs in need. Isabelle & Roland founded MLM Bullies in April 2019 out of a passion for the English/French bulldog breed. They have already cared for and rehomed over 380 dogs in just 5 years. Tara Mercer, Chris Mercer's wife, passed away to cancer on January 29th. In her memory, we are setting up a fund internally at Perr&Knight for donations to the American Cancer Society.
