Bike MS brings us together to change the world for everyone affected by MS. It’s an experience driven by passion, camaraderie and desire to make a difference. From volunteers who help you refuel at rest stops to cyclists encouraging you on the route, we’re all in this together. The Bike MS community has raised more money than any other cycling event for any other cause. To date, Bike MS cyclists, volunteers, and donors have raised more than $1.4 billion to stop MS in its tracks, restore what's been lost, and end MS forever.

Q1 FY22 Fund aligned to Cisco initiative on CSR

The Belfast Office are hosting a coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Having a Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause. One in two of us will face cancer, and the money you raise at your Coffee Morning will help everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can.

We are learning more about autism every day (formerly associated with terms such as Asperger’s Syndrome and others). Thanks to dedicated researchers, parents of autistic children, and most importantly, the autistic people who advocate for themselves, we know that autism is a constellation of neurodiverse characteristics, not a single spectrum or a checklist. We try to prioritize the organizations that not only support individuals and families, but that acknowledge autistic people’s rights to direct research that serves their communities, and campaign for accommodations that lead to fuller, happier lives.

This fund is to recognize the innumerable contributions and influence of Latin Americans.

Lauri A. Nicolosi, is a dear staff member of the Los Rios Community College District, whom we recently lost in the battle against cancer. Lauri is also my beloved and most revered cousin. Lauri dedicated decades of her life converting college texts and learning materials to braille, audio, and other media — making them consumable to students with various sensory challenges such as blindness, or hearing impairment. Upon her transitioning from this life, Lauri's friends, family, and coworkers started a memorial scholarship fund to provide exceptionally talented and hardworking students much needed financial education assistance. This seed fund is intended to help provide another venue for directing financial contributions to a fund that makes all the difference for exceptional students struggling with financial obstacles to their success.

Mimo Wszystko ('Against the Odds') NGO is celebrating its 18th anniversary. For the last 18 years, the NGO helped more than 35,000 people with disabilities. Let’s join them in celebrations by donating and doing even more good for others!

In response to Hurricane Ida, which made landfall in the U.S. state of Louisiana on Sunday August Aug.29th 2021., The Intuitive Foundation has established the Hurricane Ida Disaster Response and Recovery Campaign . Ida is the sixth-costliest tropical cyclone on record, having caused at least $50 billion in damages. This campaign is comprised of pre-vetted nonprofits providing disaster response in the region. Through a single tax deductible donation to the fund, you can support multiple organizations’ initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. We have initially selected organizations that are on the ground assisting with immediate relief needs, including rescue efforts, and medical assistance. The composition of nonprofits in this fund is subject to change as we learn more about the needs in the affected areas.

The 2021 wildfire season is shaping up to be another terrible one in California and the Western United States. In California, three of the 2021 fires (Dixie, Caldor, and Monument) are already on Cal Fire’s top 20 largest California Wildfires list since 1932 (by acreage burned), with five of the top 7 largest fires claimed by 2020 fires. Startling images of the Dixie Fire’s total destruction of the entire town of Greenville or of firefighters riding ski chairlifts to prevent the Caldor Fire from cresting the ridge at Kirkwood Mountain Resort put these statistics into sharp focus. The organizations in this fund were researched and chosen to provide boots-on-the-ground support during and in the aftermath of wildfires to meet the short, medium, and long-term needs of impacted people.

Born and grew up in Vietnam, I am lucky to have a better family than many. Recognizing from early age that, my normal life could be a dream for many others, I always want to help the most vulnerable group in our developing society: the children. My wife and I have been contributing to multiple charity groups via local community before we migrated to the US. Now when I have become a father and started to have my own family, my desire to help become stronger. My son was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2016, he was 8 years old. He is now 13 and we are getting back to normal, but the experience has opened my eyes to the need for more funding into Children specific cancer treatments. Many current treatments haven't changed in decades. We need more effective, kinder treatments for our children. This fund is to donate to the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group Charity, who are dedicated to funding research into Children's cancer and providing support and awareness to parents, carers and the medical profession.

The latest IPCC report on climate change spells code red for our planet. Disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, flooding and drought are continuing to rise. There's no doubt that human impact is the main driver, but there is hope. People and organizations everywhere are working to reverse these impacts and preserve nature. And nature is resilient. Take Chernobyl, the site of a nuclear meltdown in 1986. Within 30 years, forests, marshes, fields and rivers reclaimed the land, reversing the effects of hundreds of years of human development. Diverse wildlife, including beaver, bison, birds, fish and more re-populated this no-man's land. Even more surprising, the wolf population in Chernobyl is seven times higher than nearby nature reserves. According to 1t.org, "Forests are an essential part of the solution to tackle climate change and biodiversity collapse. Forests make us healthier and more resilient; they filter air pollution and reduce heat islands in cities; and they can propel new drug discoveries to treat current and future diseases." Reports show that 30% of girls from low-income families in India will never return after the closure of many schools in India, hindering all the progress made throughout the past decade. As a result, they're left vulnerable to abuse, have no access to education, and face period poverty. Asha's SV chapter is focusing on girl children through its projects invested in promoting hygiene and sanitation, promoting female rights, and providing vocational training. Some girl child-related projects we support include: Prayas Pratirodh Sansthan: this project provides education to tribal girls who have no access to education otherwise, while also acting as a bridge to enroll girls into formal schools. Door Step Schools: This project provides education to the children of slum dwellers, migrants/laborers, pavement dwellers, and other underprivileged families. As part of the curriculum, the school focuses and teaching girls about female health and hygiene which includes necessary information about the changes that occur during puberty. Fellowship Aheli Chowdhury: This project focuses on teaching girls of marginalized and minority communities employability skills such as reading and writing English, computer operations, and job readiness in order to help them secure a job and become financially independent. The project has also successfully helped place the girls they trained into excellent jobs. As part of our Q’3 Community Giving Event and being that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we thought it was fitting to participate in a donation drive to help make a significant impact for those children battling cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude is a truly amazing hospital in Memphis that focuses on child cancer research, treating children with cancer and supporting the families of those affected. No child is denied care at St. Jude and no family ever receives a bill which is an impressive accomplishment and one that requires a great deal of fund raising and charitable contributions. With the dollar-for-dollar matching power of our VMware Foundation, we have a great ability to make a difference in the lives of the children and families that are fighting cancer.
